    The NASL Project

Founded by an impressive group of professional sports owners including NFL Hall of Famer Lamar Hunt and Jack Kent Cooke, the North American Soccer League launched the United States into a new and exciting era of mainstream professional soccer. Between 1968-1984, the NASL showcased many of the world’s greatest players igniting a soccer explosion which is still being felt in America today.

Through interviews with key NASL personnel (including players, coaches, owners), and the use of rare archival footage, THE NASL PROJECT will depict the fascinating backstory of the league from its humble beginnings when backlash from FIFA, and the national media nearly caused the league's demise, to the birth of the Golden Age of US soccer, led by the arrival of the world’s biggest star, Pele. The film will depict the challenges the league faced making soccer appeal to the American sporting public, and the innovative measures taken to attract fans, making each game a truly "American soccer experience."

    Give the gift of soccer!

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization that works with the poor and oppressed around the world to promote human transformation, seek justice, and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

For soccer fans, World Vision has partnered with Baden Sports to provide soccer balls for these children in need that love the world's game. Your donation will enable these boys and girls to play soccer with actual soccer balls instead of rolled up garbage bags or banana leaves.
